This past February, I had the lovely opportunity to add Austin wedding photographer to my résumé for a weekend as I was in town photographing Kyle + Michelle’s nuptials. Before their big day, I coordinated a styled bridal shoot at Dimebox Ballroom, along with the help of a really wonderful team of Austin wedding vendors.
We went for a rustic-chic wedding theme, which fit perfectly with the country feel of the newly-opened Dimebox Ballroom. It definitely felt like it could also be a venue set in the mountains in Colorado, as we all know how much our Rocky Mountain Brides love a good barn!
Read on after the photos for a full description and links to the vendors involved in this wonderful collaboration. It was so neat to meet people in the wedding industry in the different part of the country, and I hope to see these lovely faces again soon in the future!
Enjoy a few of my favorites from our shoot below, and thank you for stopping by the blog!
Austin Wedding Photographer | Dimebox Ballroom styled bridal shoot
Inspiration: This shoot was dreamed up with a true dream-team of wedding vendors! While I am based in Denver, I was in Austin shooting a wedding of a friend this past February and decided to reach out to some Austin wedding vendors on Facebook to see if anyone wanted to do a styled shoot while I was in town. I received a ton of support and interest from a rad group of individuals who made this shoot come to life.
Dimebox Ballroom was the perfect venue for what we were going for. I wanted the shoot to feel like authentic Texas, and Dimebox Ballroom is exactly that. Tucked away in the back woods with a gorgeous two-floor barn to serve as a space for receptions + ceremonies, the venue had a rustic aesthetic that fit this shoot’s theme so well. The draped pastel pink fabric that stood as a backdrop for our tablescape was installed by the venue, and it couldn’t have been more perfect for our staged scene.
This amazing team of women came together to create a cohesive set up for the shoot, which ranged from a guest sign-in table complete with a vintage typewriter to a table that is actually made from an old door. The details + precision that this team showed was fantastic, and it all came together so well despite having so many moving pieces.
Our bride + groom (actually married in real life) then added in the chic element to the shoot, as they wore a sharp black tux and a mermaid-fitted sweetheart gown with gold + rose gold embroidering and detailing, respectively. Our bride’s cascading flow of curls and soft yet romantic makeup completed the look.
